More number of countries had been involved in the Great War than any previous war.

The immediate Causes of World War I is believed to be the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, the presumed heir to the throne of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire, on June 28, 1914 by the Serbian nationalist Gavrilo Princep.

Causes of World War I research papers explore the many factors that led to the First World War.

Since Italy had close friendship with Great Britain, although Italy was not a strong military nation, it was an influential part of the Alliance.

And at the same time, Great Britain and Germany had conflict in North Africa on colonial aspiration.

The major cause will be one of the four long-term causes of WWI, which are Militarism, Alliance, Imperialism, and Nationalism.

In my opinion, the two major causes would be Alliance and Nationalism.

The assassination was used by some nations to try to humiliate other nations and improve their political or territorial standing.
