Please ensure that you are clear of university entry requirements for international students.In each subject you will be taught a range of units and each unit is assigned a credit value.If you do not currently hold a level 1 qualification in numeracy and level 2 in English, then you are invited to undertake a skills test as part of our interview process.

Your offer for entry onto our Access course may be conditional to a number of factors which may include achievement of level 2 in literacy and level 1 in numeracy, satisfactory performance at interview, evidence of recent study, evidence of relevant work experience and specific criteria for international students (please see below) BELGFT – This Access to HE course requires GCSE grade 9-4 (C or above) in English and maths.

Evidence of experience in Health and/or Social Care Professions is recommended.

You will have to apply as a separate course, as well as your Access course, if this is your preference.

The national changes in GCSE requirements for mature students are unique to each HEI.

Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded an Access to Higher Education Diploma (Health and Social Care). It is essential that you are aware if your university course requires you to have prior experience before applications are made.

The social work course requires all applicants to have completed work (paid or voluntary) in a relevant sector.This may be a grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English and grade D or above in maths, a level 1/2 qualification or equivalence.It will not be possible for you to be offered a place on an Access course without meeting our entry requirements.This is a condition of entry onto the course and evidence must be provided at interview.GCSE equivalences in maths, English and science are no longer part of the Access Diploma.Course Code: BELFT Level: 3Subject area: Access to HEAwarding body: CAVAQualification: Access Course type: Full-time Time of Day: Daytime Duration: One year When you'll study: Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, 9.00am - 5.00pm Choose A Start Date & Apply Access to Higher Education courses are designed for students aged 19 or over.If you are aged 18 or under, this course may not be suitable for you.It is up to you if wish to enrol on GCSEs alongside your diploma, if you do not currently hold a recent C qualification.Your chosen university may not require its applicants to have GCSE or may be happy with previously achieved qualifications, such as O Level, level 2, etc.This course offers the chance to study alongside other mature students, tutored by experienced, motivational and supportive lecturers.Academic subjects you could study as part of this programme include psychology, sociology, health studies and social work.
