Safe Assign software checks the work against content on the Internet, in library databases, and against other student work in local and global databases.In a short period of time (usually less than a minute), a report for each paper is generated, clearly marking any matching content and identifying the source of the match.Instructors can incorporate Safe Assign assignments directly into their Blackboard Learn courses. University Libraries offers students the opportunity to have their papers submitted to Safe Assign as drafts.

After the paper is submitted to Safe Assign an Originality Report is generated that highlights areas that could potentially be considered plagiarized.
