In ICT in Year 7 you will study a series of modules to include; Introduction to School Network & File Structure – You will be introduced to the network and to understand how to log on and access your personal areas.
You will need to understand how to create an effective folder structure in order to save your work sensibly.
The skills learned on this course open up opportunities to develop a career on the creative side of new media or IT, or a career towards managing the whole process.
Learner progression could include further study on a Level 3 Creative Media Production or ICT course, an apprenticeship or employment.
The course will train you in the kind of creative flair that will take you on your first steps to employment within the creative computing sector.
Using industry standard hardware and software you will be taught the latest techniques in creative subjects to extend your skills and provide vocational emphasis.
Sequencing & Animation – You will use sequencing to create animations using control software.
You will use criteria and feedback to evaluate your work and suggest improvements and test your work and make modifications.
All ICT facilities are carefully monitored; internet access and e-mails are filtered and access to social websites and chatrooms is restricted.
All Key Stage 3 all students have one lesson of ICT per week.
