This program is also open to outstanding students who may not intend to teach in theological education, but whose dissertation projects have the potential to strengthen the religious life of North American Christians and their institutions. The Dissertation Fellowship (DF) program supports the final year Ph. Proposed projects may employ a variety of methodological perspectives, including, but not limited to, history, ethics, the social sciences, biblical studies, and historical, systematic, and practical theology. In all its grantmaking, including the Dissertation Fellowship program, LI is interested in funding projects with the potential to strengthen the religious life of North American Christians and their institutions while simultaneously advancing American religious and theological scholarship. Preference given to students engaged in research pertaining to North American Christianity, especially projects related to Institute mission priorities. Previous DF Fellowships DF applicants must be candidates for the Ph. These fellowships are intended to support the final year of dissertation writing.

The Dissertation Fellowship (DF) programs offers up to ten $25,000 grants to support the final year of Ph. Applicants may not submit applications to more than one Louisville Institute grant or fellowship program within the same grant year (June 1-May 31). Upload each application requirement in *format (preferred).

The Louisville Institute also has an interest in strengthening the quality of theological school teaching. All documents must be submitted by the February 1 deadline.

The UCI Graduate Division is pleased to announce a fellowship for students nearing completion of their dissertations/thesis.

The Graduate Dean’s Dissertation Fellowship aims to increase dissertation and thesis completion amongst doctoral and MFA students.

The Dissertation Fellowship program has no residence requirement.

However, all fellows selected in 2020 are expected to participate in the Institute’s annual Winter Seminar scheduled for January 2021 (exact dates TBA).This award is intended for students in their final year of graduate education who have a realistic expectation of degree completion during the 2019-2020 academic year.The award will allow students to forgo their non-research related employment obligations to concentrate on completing their dissertation.Students are responsible for paying for the following fees and expenses themselves: Incoming Ph D students with guaranteed multi-year support may, with the permission of their Director of Graduate Studies, enroll in courses taught through Columbia Summer Session.Upon receipt of the Summer Tuition Credit application form, GSAS will provide fellowship support to cover the tuition, the University Facilities Fee, and the International Service Charge only.All departments provide a nine-month standard stipend, the level of which is established each spring for the following academic year.Natural Sciences departments may supplement the stipend and/or provide summer research appointments.The fellowship information provided here applies only to Arts and Sciences doctoral programs.Doctoral programs in the Schools of Architecture, Business, Engineering, Journalism, Nursing, Public Health, Social Work; the College of Physicians and Surgeons; and Teachers College are administered and funded through the dean’s office of each respective school.Doctoral students in these programs should consult the dean’s office of their individual school to learn about the policies and resources that apply to them.The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, through individual departments, awards fellowships solely on the basis of demonstrated academic merit in recognition of academic achievement and in expectation of scholarly success.
