He provides LOTS of concrete examples, classroom practices, an entire chapter on reading and writing critically, and models the process of critical reflection explicitly by sharing his own experiences as a teacher and thinker.
Plus, chapter two is a brief, accessible and wonderful intellectual history of critical thinking in the academy and Western culture. I liked the book's approach to the traditions of critical thinking and how he use them to put everything in perspective and avoids succumbing to the dominant discourses of viewing critical thinking just as an extension of logical thinking.
